Advising Center

The Educational Advising office of the American Embassy is located at its offices at 142 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6. Individual and group sessions are held for individuals who wish to study in the United States. Sessions are offered by appointment and individuals are encouraged to make an appointment at least 48 hours before coming to the Embassy.

Individual advising sessions, which help students to implement their educational plans, are available by appointment on Tuesday-Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Group advising sessions are held on Wednesday afternoons. Prospective students may can schedule their appointments at The Advising center provides accurate and  unbiased information about all accredited U.S. higher education institutions.

Information on a variety of standardized tests (e.g., TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT) is available to all who wish to study in the United States. Additional information will be provided for students who have attended introductory advising sessions. The advising center offers computer access and a well equipped library of current  materials on education in the U.S. and several editions of prep material for the U.S. based exams. You are welcome to use these materials for researching and planning your U.S. education Tuesdays – Friday from 8:30.a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
