Reopening of borders:

  • The government of Jamaica announced that the borders will be open for all international travelers as of June 15, 2020.
  • According to recent media reports, Jamaican authorities have indicated that all tourists arriving to Jamaica after June 15 will be tested for COVID-19. U.S. citizens needing more information about this requirement should consult with official Jamaican Government sources before they travel.

  • Flight schedules into and out of Jamaica may be impacted by COVID-related or other exigent circumstances. Travelers are advised to check directly with airlines for the latest scheduling and booking information.

Reopening of beaches:

  • Effective June 7, 2020, all public beaches are open with strict COVID-19 protocols in effect, including social distancing.

Face coverings:

  • It is mandatory to wear a face covering in public places.

National curfew hours:

  • A curfew is in effect from 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. through June 14, 2020.
  • The curfew will begin at 10:00 P.M. until 5:00 A.M. from June 14 until June 30, 2020.

Stay-at-home measures:

  • A stay-at-home order is in effect for individuals over the age of 65 and those with comorbidities until June 30, 2020.

Cayman Islands

Curfew in effect:

  • A daily curfew is in effect from 10:00 P.M. until 4:00 A.M.

Face Coverings:

  • In indoor public places, it now is legally required to wear face coverings under certain conditions. These vary based on the public place, your age, any medical conditions you may have, as well as whether you are in Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac or Little Cayman.

Travel:

  • All airports in the Cayman Islands will remain closed to international leisure and non-essential travel until at least September 1, 2020.
  • A travel helpline has been launched to offer advice and assistance to persons with an urgent and compassionate need to travel during the airport closure. If you need to travel to or from the Cayman Islands, please use the online tool to submit your information.
  • Cruise ships and private vessels are not being accepted to the ports of the Cayman Islands.
