The Embassy of the United States of America is thrilled to have partnered with Jamaica’s Child Development Agency (CDA) in hosting noted American pediatrician, researcher and TEDMED Speaker Dr. Nadine Burke-Harris – June 13-15, 2016.
Dr. Burke Harris is a leading proponent of the nexus between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and their negative effects on an individuals’ physical health in adulthood and is passionate about improving the lives of individuals through her research.
Under the theme Know your ACES: Uncovering the Link between Adverse Childhood Experiences and Illnesses in Adulthood, Dr. Burke Harris explored the topic of Adverse Childhood Experiences in a series of workshops, seminars and forums with Jamaican pediatricians, psychologists, guidance counselors and a host of other stakeholders.
