Public Affairs Section (PAS)
The Public Affairs Section is the Press, Information, Culture and Education section of the Embassy. It provides information about the policies of the United States and supports those interested in learning more about the U.S. and its underlying principles.
The head of the Public Affairs Section is the Public Affairs Officer (PAO), who is also the Embassy’s Spokesperson. Press inquiries to any section of the Embassy should be directed in the first instance to the PAO.

The PAS administers a variety of educational exchange programs, including the Fulbright Program. Although opportunities for scholarships are limited, very large numbers of students come to the U.S. each year to take advantage of our highly advanced and frequently very specialized educational programs. For more information on our exchange programs, please visit the website for the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
The Public Affairs Section offers EducationUSA resources to individuals who have their own or other institutional means to study in the U.S. and need to know how to go about finding an appropriate university, how to apply, and how to prepare for student life in America. For more information, submit an inquiry via the EducationUSA Advising Center page.
