U.S. Embassy hosts IVLP 2018 Briefing Session

U.S Embassy Kingston heartily congratulates Jamaica’s participants who are among this year’s sleight of awardees in the International Visitors’ Leadership Program (IVLP). The IVLP emphasizes the exchange of ideas and its main objective is to foster mutual understanding/ lasting relationships and helps strengthen U.S. engagement with countries around the world.

Five of the ten selected participants, visited the Embassy on Wednesday, March 12th for an official briefing session.  Jeremiah Knight, Counselor for Public Affairs led the meeting. He congratulated the awardees, but also urged them to learn and share their own best practices with counterparts from across the globe. At varying times in the year they will each depart for the U.S. and engage in professional meetings and cultural outreach activities related to their specific area of expertise.  These include governance, child protection, journalism, youth work, civic activism and NGO management.
