U.S. Embassy to support training for Correctional Officers

U.S. Embassy’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), Director, Garth Hall, participated in a press briefing and information session for participants in the joint Correctional Institution Management Course in the United States.


The course, which is fully sponsored by the US Embassy’s INL Office, will take place in Canon City, Colorado, USA, from September 26, to October 10, 2016. The 26 correctional officers, ranging from the ranks of superintendent, assistant superintendent to overseer and staff officer, will be exposed to international standards in an effort to strengthen and enhance the rehabilitation process of inmates and wards in Correctional Institutions.


Participants will cover topics such as Case Management Duties and Responsibilities, Offender Programmes for Success and Reintegration Preparation, Alternatives to Corrections, Colorado Judicial Process, Parole Operations and Early Release Supervision, Searches & Shakedowns, Key and Tool Control Operations with Practical Exercise, Emergency Management Command and Post Program Assessment.
